{"id":821554,"date":"2026-11-02T08:42:11","date_gmt":"2026-11-02T08:42:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/821554\/"},"modified":"2026-11-02T08:42:11","modified_gmt":"2026-11-02T08:42:11","slug":"these-york-roads-are-to-get-20mph-limit-amid-inconsiderate-driving-and-parking-yorkmix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/821554\/","title":{"rendered":"These York roads are to get 20mph limit amid \u2018inconsiderate driving and parking\u2019 | YorkMix"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead wp-block-paragraph\">Speed limits of 20mph are set to be brought in on York roads suffering from parking and driving problems near a school.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">City of York Council officials have approved a 20mph limit in Acomb\u2019s Millfield Lane and Low Poppleton Lane.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A council report on the decision stated traffic in the roads was at times overwhelming and posed a risk to a large amount of pupils going to and from Manor CE Academy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Officials added the changes also followed complaints about inconsiderate driving and parking which was endangering people trying to cross the road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The moves come as part of the council\u2019s Safer Route to School initiative.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 20mph limits are set to be brought in in Millfield Lane from just south of the school and on Low Poppleton Lane to the junction with Boroughbridge Road and Beckfield Lane.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/low-poppleton-lane-york-gsv.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-576217\"  \/>Low Poppleton Lane, York.
