Following simulation tests conducted over the last two days in the Bengaluru facility, the India pacer has received clearance from the CoE medical team. <\/p>\n<p>The pacer is expected to fly to New Zealand shortly, possibly as early as the next available flight, so that he can be available for the third and final unofficial Test between India A and a New Zealand side, starting November 7. He is already out of the five-match ODI series starting on Wednesday (November 4).<\/p>\n<p>As reported by Cricbuzz on October 28, Prasidh (30) had to <a class=\"text-cbTextLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cricbuzz.com\/cricket-news\/140685\/prasidh-krishna-doubtful-for-new-zealand-odis-faces-simulation-tests-on-november-1-and-2-cricbuzzcom\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">undergo simulation tests<\/a> on November 1 and 2, and it has now emerged that the pacer, who is rapidly establishing himself as a reliable option, has come through them successfully. The CoE medical team has given him the go-ahead in the return to match assessment.<\/p>\n<p>Prasidh Krishna was initially named in the squad for the first three ODIs of the New Zealand series, subject to clearing fitness tests after sustaining a hamstring injury during the second ODI against the West Indies in Guwahati on September 30. On October 30, however, the BCCI withdrew him from the ODI squad, stating that the right-arm pacer needed additional time to build up his workload before being ready for international cricket.<\/p>\n<p>The BCCI said the bowler \u201cwill join the India A squad for the third and final four-day game against New Zealand A, subject to him clearing the Return to Play (RTP) assessment. This will give him an opportunity to gain match practice and prepare for the Test series.\u201d It has now emerged that Prasidh has completed the fitness formalities successfully and is ready to fly to New Zealand.<\/p>\n<p>Prasidh underwent a match simulation on October 22 but could not clear it resulting in the withdrawal of his name from the ODI squad. But coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Shubman Gill see Prasidh as crucial to the two Tests series, in which India face a now-or-never situation in the context of the qualification for the World Test Championship (WTC) final. <\/p>\n<p>The first Test starts on November 19 and the second Test will be from November 27.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Prasidh Krishna has been declared fit by the BCCI&#8217;s Centre of Excellence (CoE).
