It\u2019s not even December yet, but Shona<\/a> and David Platt<\/a> (Julia Goulding<\/a> and Jack P Shepherd<\/a>) are about to receive an unwelcome early Christmas present \u2013 the return of Jodie Ramsey<\/a> (Olivia Frances-Brown<\/a>).<\/p>\n

I know, I know. Jodie\u2019s a dangerous bunny-boiler here to torment our favourite couple yet again with a nefarious scheme to steal her sister\u2019s family that doesn\u2019t actually make a lot of sense in the cold light of day. <\/p>\n

Cue the fan outcry of \u2018Why won\u2019t Corrie just let them be happy?\u2019<\/p>\n

Because happy is boring<\/a>. That\u2019s why.<\/p>\n

Jodie may be many things. Obsessive. Deranged. Moody. A walking Single White Female cliche. But she\u2019s never dull. Corrie\u2019s answer to Fatal Attractions has kept us guessing what her next unhinged move will be after her scheme to Cuckoo-In-The-Nest her way<\/a> into her half-sister\u2019s family blew up in her face \u2013 almost literally.<\/p>\n

After gaslighting Shona into believing she was losing her mind, Jodie finally had David all to herself and was working her seductive wiles on him\u2026 which for a moment, seemed to be working.<\/p>\n

But David was playing Jodie like a fiddle, just so Shona could walk through the door and see her twisted sister\u2019s true colours.<\/p>\n

With her Machiavellian machinations in tatters, Jodie resorted to her back up plan \u2013 a gun.<\/p>\n

Not just any gun. The gun she stole from Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) after a dodgy deal with a local gangster, stashed in her creepy box of stolen trinkets. <\/p>\n

What followed was a life-or-death struggle where Shona wrestled the gun from Jodie and accidentally shot her sister in the stomach<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the panic, David lied to the emergency services and claimed that they had heard a gunshot, only to run inside and find Jodie lying there. He even disposed of the smoking gun by chucking it into the canal.<\/p>\n

When Jodie woke up from surgery, it didn\u2019t take her long to figure out the Platts\u2019 cover story. Surprisingly, she actually backed up David and Shona\u2019s fake version of events when DS Lisa Connor-Swain<\/a> (Vicky Myers)\u00a0<\/a>came-a-calling.<\/p>\n

This wasn\u2019t kindness, of course. It was leverage, so she could blackmail David and Shona into letting bygones be bygones and allowing her to move back into Number 8.<\/p>\n

David was having none of it, declaring their relationship was done. But Shona couldn\u2019t help feeling a pang of sympathy for her unhinged sibling and later returned to the hospital to offer her a roof over her head.<\/p>\n

However, it seemed that David\u2019s rejection had hit home hard with Jodie, as a nurse informed Shona that she had mysteriously discharged herself against medical advice and done a runner.<\/p>\n

Since then, there\u2019s been little clue to Jodie\u2019s whereabouts, aside from \u00a0Brian Packham<\/a> (Peter Gunn<\/a>) being reunited with the valuable book Jodie stole<\/a> from him after it was anonymously posted through his letter box.<\/p>\n

However, now it\u2019s David and Shona\u2019s turn to get a sinister hint regarding Jodie\u2019s fate, in upcoming episodes of Coronation Street.<\/p>\n

At No.8, Jodie\u2019s phone rings out on the sideboard. Shona answers it and her face drops. Who\u2019s calling and what do they want?<\/p>\n

Whatever the answer, it\u2019s nothing good, as David and Shona discuss the threatening phone call and can\u2019t help wondering if it was orchestrated by Jodie herself.<\/p>\n

Is Jodie to blame\u2026 or is someone holding her hostage? Has she truly turned over a new leaf\u2026 or is she up to her old tricks?<\/p>\n
