Manchester United-linked Zion Suzuki has opened up on his future with the Japanese goalkeeper previously having the opportunity to join the Reds<\/p>\n

Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki has opened up on his future after transfer links with Manchester United<\/a>. Previous reports from talkSPORT<\/a> claimed that the Reds were stepping up their scouting of the \u00a340million valued keeper.<\/p>\n

The Japanese international shone for a side battling relegation in Italy’s Serie A last season. The 22-year-old made 37 appearances across all competitions for Parma and played a key role in their survival campaign.<\/p>\n

United agreed a fee with Urawa Red Diamonds to sign Suzuki on a permanent transfer in the summer of 2023<\/a>. However, he rejected the move and joined Belgian side Sint-Truiden on loan.<\/p>\n

And the shot-stopper has now had his say on previous ‘rumours’ amid United’s goalkeeping struggles with Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir having struggled badly at Old Trafford<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know there were a lot of rumours about me, but I\u2019m totally focused on Parma and preparing to start the season well,” he told Tuttomercatoweb<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Parma made me a fantastic offer, so I immediately decided to accept and join this club. Last year was an opportunity to grow, and I\u2019m really happy with my choice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Referring to his first season in Italy, he added: \u201cIn the end, we achieved our goal, which was to stay in Serie A. I\u2019ve grown a lot, and it was a good season.<\/p>\n

“It taught me the importance of preparation, because only if you train well and in a certain way can you perform well. First of all, I want to reduce the number of goals conceded, because last season we conceded a lot.<\/p>\n

“That\u2019s my first personal goal, then as a team, we want to raise the bar and not just fight for survival.\u201d<\/p>\n
