Battlefield 6 stormed into 2025 with great trailers, gameplay reveals and a first beta. But its second beta caught some off guard with big changes to class modes and various other bits and pieces that weren\u2019t quite adding up.<\/p>\n
Now, DICE has reflected on everything everyone said, and is talking about<\/a> what\u2019s being worked on for future builds and of course, release itself on October 10, now under two months away. Here\u2019s the breakdown:<\/p>\n WEAPONS CHANGES<\/p>\n More consistent and rewarding gunplay. MOVEMENT CHANGES<\/p>\n The goals are to make sliding and jumping more situational and no longer \u201cideal options\u201d which will reduce overall gameplay from becoming too fast. MAP CHANGES<\/p>\n Changes are being made to prevent players from going out of bounds. MODES<\/p>\n Play Puzzles & Games on Forbes<\/p>\n They have absorbed feedback on Rush, but have said that in the past, larger playcounts like 64 and 128 player versions created a whole lot of issues. PLAYLISTS<\/p>\n They limited playlist options in the Open Beta are on purpose. It\u2019s a good amount, though it will likely not please everyone. I think players were hoping for more substantive changes to Rush specifically, but with all this in motion, we\u2019ll see how it feels the next time around, whether that\u2019s another Beta, in Labs or at full release in October. \n A pass on recoil and tap-fire across all ways to emphasize their \u201cunique feel\u201d and difference in range.
\n Changes to increase more controlled tap-firing and burst-firing to reward precision.
\n The M87A1 shotgun specifically will now require more pellets to kill.
\n They are looking at time-to-kill and time-to-death but they don\u2019t have any firm updates to share on those yet.<\/p>\n
\n Momentum from horizontal speed from a slide to a jump has been reduced.
\n There is a larger penalty for consecutive jumps which reduces jump height when it\u2019s spammed.
\n Firing while jumping or sliding will now be more inaccurate.<\/p>\n
\n They reiterate that larger maps are going to be there for launch and that smaller more action-oriented maps were specifically chosen for the Open Beta.
\n In Labs they will test two new maps, Mirak Valley and a returning map from Battlefield 3, Operation Firestorm, which will have all vehicles and be much larger.<\/p>\n
\n Larger-scale Rush will be available with the Portal allowing players to experiment with different player counts when launch roles around.
\n Meanwhile, Breakthrough \u201cshines\u201d with larger playercounts and will continue to get balanced toward a 50\/50 win ration for attack and defense.<\/p>\n
\n They will continue to have Open and Closed Weapons as options in Battlefield 6 and are \u201clooking for ways to keep them easily accessible.\u201d
\n They will improve matchmaking based on the feedback of it being too hard to capture sectors in Breakthrough and Rush with limited games available.<\/p>\n
