Tom Sandoval knows reality TV. Vanderpump Rules<\/a>, The Traitors<\/a>, Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test<\/a>, The Masked Singer <\/a>\u2014 he’s done them all and more.<\/p>\n

His latest is America’s Got Talent<\/a>, on which he and his cover band, Tom Sandoval and the Most Extras, performed Tuesday, the first semifinal episode of the NBC competition this series.<\/p>\n

And he hopes that his on-screen career will continue.<\/p>\n

“I would like to do a lot of different ones,” Sandoval told Entertainment Weekly ahead of his performance. “I think Survivor<\/a> sounds cool. I mean, [Got to] Get Out sounds cool.”<\/p>\n

He noted that, for him, each show had “been so fun in different ways.”<\/p>\n

Take AGT, where all four judges \u2014 Mel B<\/a>, Simon Cowell<\/a>, Howie Mandel<\/a>, and Sofia Vergara<\/a> \u2014 gave him a yes vote to move forward.<\/p>\n

Sandoval, who left Vanderpump Rules<\/a> in December 2024, said the national talent competition had been “such a different, but amazing, cool experience. Probably one of the coolest experiences of my life doing America’s Got Talent. It is so awesome.”<\/p>\n

“It’s the biggest stage, I feel like, you can be on,” he continued. “The entire world is seeing it. I’m just like in awe of how big it is, and I’m so excited to perform.”<\/p>\n

He and his band did their rendition of a-ha’s “Take on Me<\/a>” in the first appearance. For the second, on Tuesday night, he teased that there had been a lot of preparation, from rehearsals to song selection. He wanted to be sure that the song reflected the band’s true identity.<\/p>\n

“We like to do songs that cover bands wouldn’t touch, so it was hard for us to find a song,” he said. “We had a couple choices that we couldn’t clear [rights to] or that just weren’t right for AGT, but we finally landed on what I feel like is the perfect song. And we’re doing it our own way. I think people are gonna be really surprised.”<\/p>\n

Any reality show that’s interested in Sandoval as a contestant will have to work around the group’s tour dates. They’ve scheduled a tour of more than a dozen stops in Texas, Virginia, Florida, and other states that begins Sept. 19.<\/p>\n
