A 79-year-old man has died, eight days after being hit by a car.<\/p>\n

The pensioner was crossing Mount Harry Road at its junction with the A225 Dartford Road in Sevenoaks on Tuesday, August 12, when he was struck by a red Mazda 2.<\/p>\n

The vehicle stopped at the scene and the pedestrian was taken to the hospital in a critical condition.<\/p>\n

Now, the force has confirmed the man died on Wednesday, August 20.<\/p>\n

An investigation by officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is underway.<\/p>\n

Officers are continuing to appeal for information surrounding the collision, which occurred at 1.24pm.<\/p>\n

Motorists who were in the area at the time of the collision are urged to check for any relevant dashcam footage.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
