Huddersfield Giants head coach Luke Robinson has confirmed that the club are investigating the causes of their injury-stricken 2025 season.<\/p>\n

Speaking to club media<\/a> on Friday, Robinson confirmed that Leeds Rhinos\u2019 loanee Matt Frawley had suffered a season-ending injury as he labelled him as the latest to suffer from the \u201chalf-back curse\u201d at the club.<\/p>\n

Confirming that his squad to face Warrington<\/a> would not be too dissimilar to the one that faced St Helens barring the suspended Taane Milne, recalled Aidan McGowan and the injured Matt Frawley, Robinson listed some of the stars he\u2019s lost in 2025.<\/p>\n

Robinson explained: \u201cHe\u2019s gone for an operation today so it was his TFL in his ankle and nothing we could do about it. It\u2019s one of those things that happens in sport and unfortunately for us, it\u2019s another half that we\u2019ve lost.<\/p>\n

\u201cNiall (Evalds) gone for the year, Tui (Lolohea) gone for the year, Cluney (Adam Clune) gone for the year and now Frawls gone for the year.\u201d<\/p>\n

How Huddersfield Giants will prevent an injury-riddled 2026<\/p>\n

Frawley had helped steady the ship at Huddersfield with the club winning four of their last seven prior to last week\u2019s loss to St Helens. To replace him, the Giants have loaned back former Huddersfield man Oliver Russell<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Explaining that, Robinson said: \u201cI\u2019m close to Olly anyway. He\u2019s come through the academy with me and potentially he was going to go on loan to Salford. He ended up reaching out to me and speaking about it.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s really close to some of the lads and he knows the set-up. It\u2019s been seamless really.\u201d<\/p>\n

Russell is likely to be the last addition this year, as Robinson added: \u201cI think we\u2019re pretty much done. From a cap perspective, we\u2019re pretty much done. We\u2019ve had to wriggle and move people to get Olly Russell on board and the club have been good about doing that.\u201d<\/p>\n

As such the Giants coach will hope that no more injuries strike his side down but the club\u2019s injury record has been torrid this year and Robinson confirmed that plans have already began to prevent such issues in 2026.<\/p>\n

Robinson explained: \u201cWe\u2019ve got a big turnover of backroom staff anyway but we\u2019ve made adjustments to the field. We found out that there had been issues going on there.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a thorough review, we\u2019ve not glossed over it. We\u2019ve looked at what we can do and what we can change but a lot of the injuries were looked at and you realise there\u2019s not much you can do. It\u2019s just pure luck.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are others we\u2019ve looked at and thought we can change the way we do stuff so there will be adjustments and hopefully we\u2019ll be better for it.\u201d<\/p>\n
