Ruby Awards.<\/p>\n<p>Chosen from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booksandpublishing.com.au\/articles\/2025\/06\/17\/274242\/rwa-announces-ruby-award-2025-finalists\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">shortlists announced in June,<\/a> the winners in each category are:<\/p>\n<p>Historical<\/p>\n<p>A Most Improper Duchess\u00a0(Alivia Fleur, self-published)<\/p>\n<p>Long contemporary\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Return to Hope Creek\u00a0(Alyssa J Montgomery, Escape)<\/p>\n<p>Romantic elements<\/p>\n<p>The Barrington Book Club\u00a0(Susan Mackie, self-published)<\/p>\n<p>Romantic suspense<\/p>\n<p>Reckless Trust\u00a0(Nyssa Kathryn, self-published)<\/p>\n<p>Short contemporary\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bali Escape with the Single Dad\u00a0(Rachel Armstrong, Escape)<\/p>\n<p>Speculative fiction\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Wolf\u2019s Prize\u00a0(KE Turner, Totally Entwined)<\/p>\n<p>Diverse<\/p>\n<p>Ocean\u2019s Embrace\u00a0(Lisa Stanbridge, Crystal Brook Publishing)<\/p>\n<p>Novella<\/p>\n<p>Christmas at Yindi Creek (Stella Quinn, HQ).<\/p>\n<p>Alongside the Ruby Award winners, Shannon Frances James won the Emerald Award for an unpublished manuscript for \u2018Cherished Desires\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The winners were announced at the annual RWA conference, held in Hobart, Tasmania 22\u201324 August 2025.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.booksandpublishing.com.au\/articles\/2024\/08\/19\/257197\/rwa-announces-2024-ruby-winners\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Last year\u2019s winners<\/a> also
