As children across the State dressed up as their favourite characters for Book Week this week, the Nova breakfast team got in on the action — and have even gone the extra mile for Telethon by writing their own book.

Nathan Morris, Nat Locke and Shaun McManus launched their book What If … We Wrote a Book at Brentwood Primary School on Friday, along with special guests Roger Cook, Joel Creasy and of course, Fat Cat.

“Every year we do our show from a primary school for Book Week and we pick one. We’ve always got so into it and we love the idea of kids getting into books. So like all other celebrities we thought why not write a book and so we did,” Locke said.

“As we’ve been on air for so long, we’ve been part of the Telethon fundraising activities since the day we first started more than 20 years go, so we thought it’s a cause we should help out with because it’s a cause close to every West Australian’s heart.”

Locke said it was the perfect opportunity to dress up as her favourite furry friend, given he was a character in the book.

“My dog Lewis is very near and dear to my heart, so no surprise my part was about him. So I was fully entitled to dress up as him for Book Week,” she said.
