ZANDVOORT, Netherlands (AP) \u2014 Lewis Hamilton was wistful and cryptic in a social media post Monday as he prepares to resume his tough debut season with Ferrari<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The seven-time Formula 1 champion seems ready to race Sunday when the series returns in the Netherlands after a four-week midseason break.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to keep going, even when it\u2019s difficult,\u201d the 40-year-old Hamilton wrote in a brief post on Instagram<\/a>, with a photo of himself silhouetted in front of a warm sunset.<\/p>\n

It offered more insight \u2014 if not complete clarity \u2014 after previous social media posts in his break from a racing season that has brought no podium finish in 14 starts and led Hamilton to call his driving \u201cabsolutely useless.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo days off,\u201d he wrote last week accompanying a photo while lifting weights.<\/p>\n

Days earlier, \u201cDND\u201d \u2014 what seemed to be \u201cdo not disturb\u201d \u2014 was all he wrote with a photo laying in a grassy field near mountains with his bulldog Roscoe.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m always so grateful for this time, for the opportunity to rest and recharge,\u201d Hamilton posted Monday. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot I\u2019ve been meditating on.\u201d<\/p>\n

His thoughts seemed to be taking him beyond the F1 race tracks, where his best results have been three fourth-place finishes.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery one of us is up against so much, both individually and globally,\u201d Hamilton wrote. \u201cIt\u2019s so important that we embrace the light of truth and love and take care of ourselves so that we can better take care of others.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can\u2019t look away,\u201d said the British racing great, who is still pursuing an eighth title that would lift him above Michael Schumacher.<\/p>\n

McLaren\u2019s Oscar Piastri leads the F1 standings ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix.<\/p>\n
