{"id":93648,"date":"2025-08-26T09:54:06","date_gmt":"2025-08-26T09:54:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/93648\/"},"modified":"2025-08-26T09:54:06","modified_gmt":"2025-08-26T09:54:06","slug":"deontay-wilder-rules-out-one-fight-taking-place-next-its-not-happening","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/93648\/","title":{"rendered":"Deontay Wilder Rules Out One Fight Taking Place Next: &#8220;It&#8217;s Not Happening&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.secondsout.com\/topic\/deontay-wilder\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Deontay Wilder<\/a> has ruled out facing one fighter in particular next as he prepares to make his return to the ring.<\/p>\n<p>The former long-reigning WBC heavyweight champion made his return to the ring back in June, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/boxing\/story\/_\/id\/45601020\/deontay-wilder-stops-tyrrell-herndon-return-ring\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">stopping fellow countryman Tyrrell Herndon in the seventh round of their non-title clash at the Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Wilder\u2019s last ring appearance before facing Herndon came against China\u2019s Zhilei \u2018Big Bang\u2019 Zhang, who stopped the American in the fifth round of their showdown at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh last June.<\/p>\n<p>As \u2018The Bronze Bomber\u2019 gears up to make his 50th ring appearance as a professional, the 39-year-old\u2019s long-term adviser Shelly Finkel has issued an update on Wilder\u2019s current situation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldboxingnews.com\/deontay-wilder-francis-ngannou-future\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">In an interview with World Boxing News<\/a>, Finkel ruled out a fight between \u2018The Bronze Bomber\u2019 and former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou taking place before the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDeontay Wilder will not be facing Francis Ngannou in 2025. That fight is not happening this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Finkel did confirm that Wilder will be returning before the end of the year however, before targeting a \u2018big fight\u2019 for 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe plan is for Deontay to have another fight before the end of this year. After that, we will be looking for a big fight in 2026.
