Robert Garcia<\/a> has shared his thoughts on the controversial match-up between Gervonta Davis<\/a> and Jake Paul<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was announced last week that reigning WBA world lightweight champion \u2018Tank\u2019 Davis would lock horns with Paul in an event on Friday November 14 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia,<\/a> though the rules \u2013 including weight, gloves and number of rounds \u2013 are yet to be made clear.<\/p>\n

Davis had been originally pencilled in to face his countryman Lamont Roach Jr for the second time, after their controversial first meeting back in March ended in a draw, however these plans have now been squandered leaving Roach without his earned shot.<\/p>\n

Paul made his most recent ring appearance back in June, defeating Mexico\u2019s former WBC world middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr via unanimous decision at the conclusion of their ten round cruiserweight showdown in Anaheim, California.<\/p>\n

Speaking to ESNEWS<\/a>, trainer Robert Garcia<\/a> \u2013 who corners the likes of Vergil Ortiz Jr and Jesse \u2018Bam\u2019 Rodriguez \u2013 didn\u2019t hesitate to give his backing to Davis, hinting that he believes the unbeaten American will stop \u2018The Problem Child\u2019 when they clash later this year if the rules allow it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Tank f***s him up. He\u2019s a good fighter man \u2026 He could be [one of] the best in the world \u2026 I\u2019m not mad at the fight, [but] I\u2019m not gonna watch it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paul has received criticism for opting to face Davis next, especially considering the lightweight champion stands eight inches shorter than him and weighed in over 60 pounds lighter than him when he faced Lamont Roach back in March.<\/p>\n

Before his showdown with \u2018Tank\u2019 was confirmed, Paul was reportedly in line to face two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua next, a fight he says will still happen further down the line.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Robert Garcia has shared his thoughts on the controversial match-up between Gervonta Davis and Jake Paul.
