Coronation Street star Adam Hussain<\/a> has landed a brand-new acting role as his time on the cobbles comes to an end. \u00a0<\/p>\n The actor, who has played Aadi Alahan<\/a> since 2020, is starring in a powerful new short film titled Spice For Life, which has just been released on YouTube<\/a>.<\/p>\n The 12-minute drama sees Adam take on the role of a foster child struggling to connect with his care worker, played by Hollyoaks actress Kirsty-Leigh Porter<\/a>, until the pair bond over a love of cooking.<\/p>\n The film was created by filmmaker Saleem Miah, and is based on his own experiences growing up in the foster care system.<\/p>\n \t\t Speaking to ITV News, Saleem explained: \u2018I grew up in foster care myself, I moved about quite a lot. I grew up in Oldham, and I was placed with a lot of white families, which I think is quite like a unique, interesting upbringing.<\/p>\n I\u2019ve always wanted to make a film about it. The story it\u2019s fictional, but a lot of the scenes in it I have kind of got from my own life, really. He added: \u2018I feel like people have assumptions, don\u2019t they, and they sort of assume that kids in care, you\u2019re not very smart or, like, you\u2019re a troublemaker, you\u2019re not ambitious.<\/p>\n \u2018I\u2019ve always wanted to be an example of someone that doesn\u2019t sort of fit those stereotypes and just proving that we can be just as good as anyone else at something and we can live really good lives.\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t Spice For Life is Adam\u2019s first post-Corrie role since announcing his departure from the show earlier this year.<\/p>\n Breaking the news on Instagram back in April, Adam wrote:<\/a> \u2018I guess the secret\u2019s out now! As some of you may have heard, I will be leaving Coronation Street for new pastures.<\/p>\n \u2018Over the 5 years I\u2019ve spent there I have learned so much about the world and the industry and now feel I am ready to spread my wings a little. \u2018I\u2019m excited to see what the future brings! Thank you Coronation Street for giving me such a privilege of portraying this character for you.
