West Ham have had a truly miserable transfer window. <\/p>\n

West Ham have added the likes of Mads Hermansen<\/a> and Malick El Hadji Diouf for a combined total of \u00a336million, with Callum Wilson<\/a> and Kyle Walker-Peters joining on free transfers. <\/p>\n

There is still a glaring lack of quality in the London Stadium<\/a> squad, with just five days left to find potential additions before 1 September. <\/p>\n

West Ham are bottom of the Premier League table<\/a>, and there is no sign of things getting any better with the chaos surrounding the East London club.<\/p>\n

David Sullivan has been blamed for West Ham\u2019s shortcomings<\/a> in the market, but the fiasco may not be his fault after all.<\/p>\n

The Guardian\u2019s Jacob Steinberg shared on 27 August that multiple sources have stated that Sullivan entered the transfer window, giving Potter<\/a> and Kyle Macaulay free rein over signings.<\/p>\n

The feeling is that the duo aimed too high when it came to potential targets, with misguided moves for Jacob Ramsey and Harvey Elliott.<\/p>\n

It claimed that the Hammers\u2019 pursuit of Chelsea star Andrey Santos was regarded as a joke by the Stamford Bridge club, and they were warned not to bid for Barcelona\u2019s Marc Casado before doing so.<\/p>\n

Graham Potter and David Sullivan need to work it out<\/p>\n

Potter and Sullivan need to sort it out in the final few days of the window and sign some real quality, otherwise they are in real danger of relegation. <\/p>\n

It does not matter where the blame lies; it matters what they do to sort out the shambles that have unfolded this summer, and they only have a limited amount of time to fix it. <\/p>\n

If they fail to do so, there is little chance of the situation improving, and Potter will likely be out of a job, and Sullivan will be under more pressure than ever from the supporters. <\/p>\n

That is not what anyone wants; everyone wants the Irons to be successful, and they must come together and salvage their business in the final knockings, otherwise it will be catastrophic. <\/p>\n
