{"id":99648,"date":"2025-08-28T23:22:07","date_gmt":"2025-08-28T23:22:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/99648\/"},"modified":"2025-08-28T23:22:07","modified_gmt":"2025-08-28T23:22:07","slug":"jayden-myers-wakefield-trinity-back-signs-new-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/99648\/","title":{"rendered":"Jayden Myers: Wakefield Trinity back signs new deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Wakefield Trinity outside back Jayden Myers has signed a new five-year contract. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Myers, 22, joined Wakefield a year earlier than expected, from Bradford after Trinity paid a fee to bring the deal forward in December 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Jayden has applied himself in an outstanding way,&#8221; head coach Daryl Powell <a href=\"https:\/\/wakefieldtrinity.com\/star-boy-sticking-with-wakey\/\" class=\"ssrcss-k8mrr8-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">told the club website, external<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;We are confident he will be a consistent Super League player and I look forward to seeing how he develops in the next few years.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Director of rugby Ste Mills said securing Myers&#8217; future had been a long-term priority for Trinity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Everyone at the club can see how much progress he has made in the seven months since joining us,&#8221; added Mills.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;He&#8217;s a young, powerful outside back who gives us strength on the wings and in the centres.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;This piece of business will be seen as a crucial signing in a couple of years.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Powell and assistant Michael Shenton <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/sport\/rugby-league\/articles\/cvg04l7p8z3o\" class=\"ssrcss-k8mrr8-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">extended their contracts<\/a> with the club until the end of the 2029 season last week, with Mills appointed director of rugby until 2031.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Wakefield host Huddersfield on Saturday in round 24.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Wakefield Trinity outside back Jayden Myers has signed a new five-year contract.
