Dear Santa,
Happy holidays! I know this is around the time of year when you get swamped with responsibilities. I, along with every other student in this school powering through the finals season, greatly empathize with you. Still, no exam could distract me from sending you my wish list for Christmas this year.
Listed below are a few things I would be very grateful to receive. I promise I’ve been very good this semester!
The eradication of the “finals flu”
My Thanksgiving break was burdened by a terrible cold, and my immune system is in desperate need of a break. I’m hoping you will listen to my prayers that no sickness will catch me — or any other student for that matter — for the rest of the year.
More study spots
It feels like every time I walk into the library, determined to tackle my flashcards, I end up just wandering around forever searching for an open seat. Is it too much to ask for more study spaces for despairing students? Maybe reopen Moffitt Library?
An internship
There are only so many rejection emails I can take. Please, Santa, my future is on the line!
Energy drinks
Two Celsiuses a day is doing irreversible damage to my wallet. Yes, I could just hold off on the caffeine, but why do that when I can ask you for some free ones? By the way, my favorite flavors are Sparkling Arctic Vibe and Kiwi Strawberry.
A meal plan
I know I’m technically supposed to leave out cookies for you, but I seriously can’t resist the chocolate chip cookies at Café 3 or the chicken tenders at Golden Bear Café. Plus, a meal plan will save me a lot of time and energy spent on homemade food.
Hopefully these aren’t too much to ask for. Regardless, I will appreciate whatever gifts you send my way this year. Merry Christmas!
Sincerely,
A UC Berkeley student
