BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — California Highway Patrol will hold a DUI/driver’s license checkpoint on Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, in an unincorporated area of Bakersfield, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment, with other officers checking drivers for proper licensing, delaying drivers temporarily. Specifically-trained officers at the checkpoint will evaluate drivers suspected of driving while under the influence of drugs.

CHP said checkpoints are placed in areas based on crash statistics and the frequency of DUI arrests, while looking for the best opportunity to deter drunk or drug-impaired driving.
Funding for the checkpoint is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
