Authorities are looking for additional victims after a school district official in the Brea area was accused of sending sexual messages to minors, the Brea Police Department said Thursday.
Police said Chris Becerra, a board trustee with the Brea Olinda Unified School District, was arrested Thursday for possessing child pornography and annoying or molesting a child.
Becerra, 42, lives in Brea with his four children and holds a doctorate degree in early childhood education, according to the school district website. He’s also an employee at Santa Ana College and on the Board of Trustees of the North Orange County Regional Occupational Program, police said.
In addition to the child pornography and child annoyance charges, Becerra is accused of falsifying evidence as well as bribing, influencing, intimidating or threatening witnesses.
Detectives said they have found additional victims, and because of his access to children, there may be more victims.
