Man arrested after brief standoff in south Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A 46-year-old man was arrested after a brief standoff in south Bakersfield Thursday afternoon.

An officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a subject, later identified as Jeffrey Aaron, 46, around 4:05 p.m. in the 10 block of Union Avenue.

Police said Aaron fled on foot and barricaded himself in a room located in the 80 block of Union Avenue.

A brief standoff then happened.

Ultimately, Aaron was taken into custody without incident.
