The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office says there was no threat to safety at Long Beach Elementary School in Boulder Hill after police were called to the school for a suspicious object Thursday morning.
Students were placed on hold and remained in their classrooms out of an abundance of caution while deputies investigated.
The Sheriff’s Office says deputies confirmed the item had been unknowingly brought to the school. Authorities did not specify what the item was or how it was discovered by school staff.
Long Beach Elementary School is part of the Oswego 308 School District.
