SAN JOSE, Calif. – Brendon Gyapjas was named First Team All-American, Samu Biros was named Second Team All-American and László Szieben, Sam Keightley and Mateja Bosić received All-American Honorable Mentions, announced by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches on Friday. SJSU led the WCC with five All American selections. Their five selections are also the most since the program was reinstated in 2015. Gyapjas is also the first Spartan to be named First Team All-American since reinstatement.
The Spartans finished the season as the sixth ranked team in the country and earned a berth to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in the last three seasons. The Spartans were crowned 2025 WCC Champions, marking their second conference championship in three seasons. In the conference tournament, SJSU took down Air Force 14-10, No. 10 Pepperdine 13-12 in overtime, and No. 15 Cal Baptist 15-9 in the Championship match. The Spartans were also named WCC Co-Regular Season Champions for the first time in program history after finishing with a conference record of 5-1.
