BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying three boys accused of assaulting and robbing a person after declining to buy candy bars the kids were selling.

Police said the robbery happened on Sunday, November 23, in the 1700 block of Custer Avenue, near Hughes Lane and Wilson Road.

According to police, the three boys were selling candy bars in the neighborhood and approached the victim. When the victim declined to purchase the candy, he was allegedly assaulted by two of the suspects, and his wallet was taken.

The three kids left towards the 1800 block of Stillman Avenue.

Police provided a photo of one of the suspects. He is described as a boy, slim build, with short black hair in an Afro style. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and grey shorts.

The other suspects are described as:

Black male, juvenile, short in height with short black hair, and was wearing a grey sweater and grey shorts. Black male, juvenile, short in height with short black hair, and was wearing a grey sweatshirt and pants.
