Adding a few licks, some snuggles, and a series of satisfying scritches to your holiday to-do list doesn’t seem too difficult, especially when you know those scritches and snuggles are helping out a hound or feline in need of some TLC.
Best Friends Animal Society has long been at the forefront of delivering tender loving care to critters, and to help a few furry cuties this season? There is the Holiday Foster Sleepover campaign, which pairs a few adoptable dogs and cats with people who can foster for a few December nights.
The 2025 dates are coming up — Dec. 23-26, to be exact — and there is still time to sign up to foster a little Christmas elf over that period.
You’ll pick up the pup or cat at 1845 Pontius Avenue in West Los Angeles Dec. 23 and return your furry foster Dec. 26. Unless, that is, you’ve found that you can’t be parted from your new pal and would like to continue foster or make the move to adopt.
“Opening your home to an adoptable pet, even briefly, can make a lasting difference,” shares Best Friends.
“Time in a calm, loving environment helps pet decompress from the shelter and gives staff members valuable insight that can lead to a loving home.”
