After beating the Tennessee Titans 37-24 at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers are on the road in Week 16 for an interconference showdown with the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night at Lucas Oil Stadium.

With just three weeks remaining in the 2025 regular season, San Francisco has put together a 10-4 record. That’s good enough for third place in the NFC West and the sixth seed in the NFC playoff picture.

San Francisco already benefited from one result in Week 16, as the Seattle Seahawks‘ victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night gave the 49ers the ability to move into second place in the division and fifth in the conference if Kyle Shanahan’s squad beats the Colts.

On Saturday, San Francisco could’ve had some more wiggle room in their search for the highest possible seed if the Washington Commanders defeated the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers defeated the Chicago Bears.

With that, there’s really only one game on Sunday that could make things easier for the 49ers, and that’s the matchup between the Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Entering Sunday, the Lions are currently outside of the playoffs with an 8-6 record, but they’re still alive. If they win, and the 49ers lose on Monday, Detroit would be just one game behind San Francisco. The 49ers will also clinch a playoff spot if Pittsburgh wins, so the 49ers and their fans should be supporting the Steelers in that one.

The rest of the games shouldn’t affect things much for the 49ers.
