(FOX40.COM) — The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who was arrested on Sunday after being barricaded in connection with a shooting on Saturday.

Just before 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, a shooting occurred in South Sacramento near the 7600 block of Power Inn Road following an argument outside a business. Officials said that during the confrontation, the 34-year-old suspect, Terrian Adams, revealed a dark-colored handgun, pointed it at the victim, and threatened to shoot him.

As the victim turned away, Adams fired a round in his direction. While the shot missed, a fragment struck the victim in the back of the right leg, causing a minor injury, according to the SCSO.

A friend of the victim arrived to pick him up and briefly confronted Adams, who again showed the handgun before fleeing the area, the sheriff’s office said. While fleeing, Adams placed the firearm into a woman’s bag without her knowledge.

Officials said the firearm was later recovered and determined to be an illegal, ghost handgun with an illegal 30-round magazine.

On Sunday, Adams was located and barricaded himself inside a residence on the 8300 block of Fieldpoppy Circle. After an hours-long standoff, the Sheriff’s SWAT team located Adams hiding in the attic and safely took him into custody without further incident.
