FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — Fourteen people were arrested for driving under the influence at a DUI checkpoint held on Saturday in Fresno.
The checkpoint was held at Fig Garden Drive and Bullard Avenue from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

The operation also resulted in 24 drivers being cited for operating a vehicle without a license or with a suspended or revoked license.
Police contacted 364 vehicles during the 7-hour operation.
DUI checkpoint locations are selected based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes.
The primary goal of these checkpoints is to enhance public safety by removing suspected impaired drivers from the roads.
The next DUI enforcement operation is scheduled for this Saturday.
Funding for the checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
