A woman suffered major injuries when an SUV and a box truck collided at Second and Kern Monday morning
The woman driving the SUV was treated at the scene by firefighters and paramedics and taken to Taft airport to be flown to a Bakersfield hospital by air ambulance.
The driver of the two-axle truck escaped serious injury.
The crash blocked the intersection. The wrecked SUV was in the middle of Kern Street and the truck traveled west and struck a metal post in front of a building on Kern.
The accident was reported at about 7:40 a.m.
