SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — If you were one of the thousands of people in San Francisco that have been affected by the power outage, you might be entitled to a credit from PG&E.
The credit is called a “Storm Inconvenience Bill” credit. It’s available for customers who’ve dealt with a power outage lasting two days or longer due to a storm or other major weather-related event.
In order to qualify – you must be a PG&E customer and have your account in good standing.

Credits are issued based on the length of the outage. 48 to 72 hours starts at $25 going up to $100, if you’re stuck without power for 120 hours or more.
48 to 72 hours: $25
72 to 96 hours: $50
96 to 120 hours: $75
120 hours or more: $100
This is to help alleviate the burden of things like spoiled food or prescription medications, if your fridge went out.

If you have any trouble with PG&E, check with your homeowner’s insurance that often covers these types of reimbursements.
