The sizable and soggy storm that swept through our region Oct. 13 and 14 was a big one for this time of year, no doubt.

And if you’re thinking of taking your car for a thorough and cleansing scrub over the weekend, you might consider a Halloween-themed attraction that is now haunting a trio of carwashes.

It’s the Haunted Carwash, an offbeat embrace of the season that, yes, really involves a real carwash and the chance for your car to enjoy a bath.

There are three locations in 2025 — Carwood Carwash in Lakewood, Splash N Go Carwash in Montclair, and Big Wave Carwash in Anaheim — and hours and dates will vary.

So be sure to check out the location you want to visit on this site, all to gather details, and purchase your ticket in advance (the price starts at $30).

Because this is a carwash experience, you’ll stay inside your car at all times, with the windows rolled up. What is beyond the windows, you ask with a tremulous voice? Well, something may be, could be, out in the mist. A monster, a clown, a monster rocking some cool clown make-up, or something vampiric and spooky.

Or, just perhaps, all of the above.

The Haunted Carwash began during the pandemic as a distanced way to enjoy the haunting holiday. But its reign didn’t end in the early ’20s, no sirree; it has continued to make a “splash” each season, giving fans of haunted houses a quirky, car-based spin on the concept.

For addresses, prices, and all of the eerie must-knows, do a slow roll by this site.

The Haunted Carwash will vaporize into wicked water droplets after Oct. 31, so visit your local scrub-up, scream-it-out spot now.
