SO, TAMARA, THE RADAR SHOWING THAT HEAVY RAIN THAT’S COMING DOWN OVER POLLOCK PINES EL CAMINO PLACERVILLE AREA WHERE WE WERE JUST UP IN THAT IT WAS COMING DOWN PRETTY HARD. WE’RE NOW HEADING DOWN THE HILL. WE’RE PASSING THROUGH FOLSOM RIGHT NOW. YOU CAN SEE OFF ON THE SKYLINE THERE, SOME BREAKS IN THE CLOUD, LITTLE PATCHES OF BLUE TRYING TO POKE THROUGH. AND WE’RE JUST RIGHT NOW JUST GETTING SOME MIST UP OFF THE ROADWAY. SO THE DRIVING IN THE VALLEY IS REALLY STARTING TO IMPROVE. ALTHOUGH WE STILL HAVE A FEW SPINOUTS IN AND AROUND THE AREA, WITH THE ROADS INUNDATED WITH WATER FROM THE OVERNIGHT DOWNPOUR THAT CAME DOWN. BUT MOST OF THAT ACTIVITY NOW UP OVER THE FOOTHILLS. SO IF YOU’RE HEADING OUT ONTO THE ROAD AND AGAIN, THOSE AREAS OF PLACERVILLE EL CAMINO SOME OF THOSE AREAS, THAT’S WHERE WE’RE SEEING NOW NEW REPORTS OF SPINOUTS AND SOME STANDING WATER. WE’RE CURRENTLY HEADING WESTBOUND HIGHWAY 50. WE’RE GOING TO TRY TO MAKE OUR WAY TOWARDS FRANKLIN BOULEVARD AND POINT PLEASANT. UNFORTUNATELY, JUST OFF OF I-5. THAT’S WHERE WE HAVE REPORTS OF A FATAL COLLISION. A SINGLE VEHICLE OFF INTO A POLE. AND THEY HAVE CALLED THE CORONER TO THAT SCENE. SO THAT IS WHERE WE’RE HEADING FOR NOW. At least one person died Wednesday morning in Sacramento County after a crash officials are saying was weather-related.The California Highway Patrol said a vehicle crashed into a telephone pole at Franklin Boulevard and Point Pleasant Road near Elk Grove. SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. —

At least one person died Wednesday morning in Sacramento County after a crash officials are saying was weather-related.

The California Highway Patrol said a vehicle crashed into a telephone pole at Franklin Boulevard and Point Pleasant Road near Elk Grove. That crash was reported shortly before 6 a.m.

Details were not released on how many people were in the vehicle, but CHP said no other vehicles were involved.
