Severe thunderstorms packing damaging winds blew through the San Jose area early Wednesday morning, December 24, as the National Weather Service warned residents to prepare for up to 60 mph and pea-sized hail.

The NWS said it recorded a 108 mph wind gust at Pablo Point in the Marin County highlands around 2 am local time.
