Two people were killed in a fiery late-night crash on a rainy Christmas Day in Los Angeles’ Glassell Park neighborhood.

The collision was reported shortly after 11 p.m. on the 3400 block of North Eagle Rock Boulevard, near the 2 Freeway.

Police said the vehicle was traveling northbound on Eagle Rock Boulevard just south of Avenue 34 when the driver lost control, struck the median and then veered off the road, crashing into a tree.

A Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson later confirmed that a passenger was also killed in the crash. Neither victim has been identified.

It was unclear what caused the crash, but video showed rain falling on the slick roadway as investigators worked at the scene.
