LONG BEACH, Miss. (WLOX) – On Sunday, the Long Beach Art and Artisans Market brought color and creativity to the town, giving local artists a space to showcase their work.
Each week, around 10 to 15 vendors set up shop, offering everything from tasty treats to paintings, photography, books, and more.
Organizers say the market not only highlights local talent but also provides an affordable way for small artists to connect with the community.
“It helps boost the community and gets us out there as a community,” Long Beach Art and Artisan’s Market manager Sara White said. “It also gives us handmade small business people a chance to exhibit without having to do the major fees of going into a regular business.
White said most galleries will charge 35 to 50% for small artists.
“This, we have one set fee, so you don’t have to worry about those high fees,” she said.
The market takes place every Sunday on 3rd Street from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. —weather permitting— and offers a weekly opportunity for locals to shop small and support homegrown creativity.
