Scooter rider dies after hit by vehicle in Sacramento County, CHP says

A man riding a scooter died Monday morning after being hit by a vehicle in Sacramento County, the California Highway Patrol said.A vehicle around 8:20 a.m. was traveling northbound on the Watt Avenue Bridge over the American River when it hit the scooter rider, who was going southbound on a northbound lane, CHP said. The rider died at the scene.CHP said the driver stayed and cooperated with officers. Officers made no arrests.While the cause of the crash is not known, it did happen at a time when areas of dense fog reduced visibility around much of the Greater Sacramento Region.See news happening? A man riding a scooter died Monday morning after being hit by a vehicle in Sacramento County, the California Highway Patrol said.
A vehicle around 8:20 a.m. was traveling northbound on the Watt Avenue Bridge over the American River when it hit the scooter rider, who was going southbound on a northbound lane, CHP said. The rider died at the scene.
