Months after a man was hospitalized after an alleged hate crime attack on Halloween night in Sacramento’s Lavender Heights neighborhood, the Sacramento Police Department on Monday said he died of his injuries. The man who’s been in custody since his arrest in connection with the attack, 25-year-old Sean Payton, will now face homicide charges following the man’s death, police said. The family of the victim previously identified him as Alvin Prasad.
