The San Jose Sharks held a full practice on Tuesday, but many players were absent due to maintenance or injuries.

Today’s #SJSharks practice is considered a full skate, but several players are missing. Celebrini, Gaudette, Dellandrea, Mukhamadullin, Wennberg, Askarov, Nedeljkovic. We will get updates post-skate from Warsofsky

The Sharks will be able to dress a lineup full of 18 skaters and two goalies against the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday. Head coach Ryan Warsofsky confirmed the status of a few players for the game, but not every player. Macklin Celebrini took a puck to the face against the Anaheim Ducks on Monday and didn’t skate on Tuesday. Warsofsky said the medical staff wanted to evaluate him further, but expects him to play.

“He’ll be fine. Just need to get checked out this morning. He’ll be fine,” Warsofsky said.

For centers Ty Dellandrea and Alexander Wennberg, Warsofsky says both players should play.

“Should be good. Dellandrea is dealing with something, [but] really confident he’ll be good to go tomorrow,” Warsofsky said. “Wennberg is maintenance.”

The news wasn’t as good for Adam Gaudette, who suffered a new lower-body injury against the Ducks. The San Jose Sharks winger had been fighting through a lower-body injury, causing him to miss the final game before the Christmas break. He would return to the Sharks lineup against the Vancouver Canucks, but left after his first shift in the third period on Monday.

“Something different, lower body. He’ll be out tomorrow,” Warsofsky said.

The list continued to grow as the only defenseman not to participate in San Jose Sharks practice on Tuesday was Shakir Mukhamadullin. Warsofsky didn’t rule him out for New Year’s Eve, but it isn’t a guarantee that he will play either.

“He’s probably the one guy that’s questionable,” Warsofsky explained. “New injury, lower-body.”

Vincent Desharnais is still considered week-to-week but was able to skate with the team during practice for the first time since he suffered his lower-body injury. Timothy Liljegren also returned to practice but won’t play against the Wild.

Warsofsky also confirmed that both Will Smith and Philipp Kurahsev skated on their own but remain week-to-week. SHD had spotted Kurashev in a cast on Dec. 20 before the game against the Seattle Kraken.

Lastly, neither Yaroslav Askarov nor Alex Nedeljkovic participated in practice. Warsofsky didn’t name a starting goalie for the Sharks, but explained why neither skated today.

“Asky got peppered pretty good last night,” Warsofsky said. “More of a maintenance day for Ned.”

Askarov stopped 38 shots in the 5-4 win over the Ducks.
