Bronny is LeBron’s oldest son, and was a star high school basketball player in California before committing to play in college as a four-star prospect at the University of Southern California (USC).

Bronny’s career at USC was derailed due to a cardiac arrest episode in 2023 that revealed a congenital heart defect, though the young star was able to recover and return to the court later that year and was a solid performer for the USC Trojans during his college career.

Bronny James was drafted 55th overall in the 2024 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers, the same team where his father, LeBron James, plays.

Bronny has bounced between the main Lakers roster and the team’s G League team, the South Bay Lakers, during his two seasons in professional basketball.

In his young Lakers career, Bronny, a shooting guard, has scored 91 total points, and in the 2025-2026 season is averaging 1.7 points per game.
