BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — At least one person is dead after a vehicle rolled over on Wednesday afternoon in the California City area, according to CHP’s website.

At around 12:37 p.m., on northbound Highway 14, just north of Phillips Road, a driver was reportedly being forced off the highway by two other vehicles. Shortly later, the vehicle rolled over, landing on its side.

At least two lanes on Highway 14 were closed for at least two hours. The northbound lanes of Highway 14 were closed at Phillips Road as of 1:17 p.m., said the website.

The identity of the person will be released at a later time by the Kern County Coroner’s Office.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. CHP’s website reported that two drivers were tailgating the person who crashed, according to a witness; however, this information is unconfirmed at this time.
