In the 1880s, goldsmith Ben Skalet first arrived in New York City from Russia and built his jewelry business. Skalet Family Jewelers on Front Street held a “going out of business” sale on Wednesday, with discounts including up to 80% off.
John Skalet and his wife opened the shop in Sacramento in 1975, but their story began much earlier. In the 1880s, goldsmith Ben Skalet first arrived in New York City from Russia and built his jewelry business.
