A 57-year-old man who was found dead in the lake at Los Angeles’ MacArthur Park was identified Tuesday.
Officers responded around 5 p.m. Thursday to reports of a person wearing a backpack floating in the lake, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police said they retrieved the body and attempted lifesaving measures. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, the department reported.
He was identified Tuesday by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Fernando Garcia Delgado, who drowned.
Investigators indicated no signs of trauma. The man’s death was described by police and the medical examiner’s office as an “accident.”
