The Orange County Power Authority (OCPA) is inviting young artists in grades TK-6 to participate in an exciting art contest aimed at promoting environmental awareness and sustainability. The contest, themed “Picturing A Better Tomorrow,” encourages students to express their creativity by envisioning innovative ways to protect the planet, decrease reliance on fossil fuels, and embrace renewable energy.
The initiative aims to inspire young minds to think about climate change and how everyone can contribute to a cleaner and greener future. “We are looking for artwork that showcases how we can work together to combat climate change and make the world a better place for generations to come,” said a spokesperson for OCPA.
Four winners will be selected, each receiving four single-day admission tickets to Knott’s Berry Farm. The contest is open to students who reside in or attend schools in Buena Park, Fullerton, Fountain Valley, or Irvine. Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 5 pm.
To enter, participants must submit a fully completed entry form along with their artwork, which should be the student’s original creation. The artwork can utilize various mediums such as paint, markers, crayons, or digital art but should not exceed the dimensions of 18”x24”.
Entries can be submitted by mail, in person, or electronically. The OCPA office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for those wishing to drop off physical submissions. Digital entries can be emailed to info@ocpower.org.
Winners will be chosen based on creativity, originality, and relevance to the theme, and will be notified no later than March 2, 2026. The winning artwork will also be featured as part of a mural in the OCPA offices.
The OCPA, a not-for-profit public agency, is dedicated to providing clean power at competitive rates while significantly reducing energy-related greenhouse emissions and promoting local energy programs. To learn more about the art contest and other OCPA initiatives, visit www.ocpower.org.
