The Boston Celtics survived a slow start vs. the Sacramento Kings in their 120-106 win on Thursday (Jan 1.) night at Golden 1 Center to improve to 21-12 on the season, and a late push from Derrick White (16 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, and as many blocks) and the bench following Jaylen Brown (29 points, 10 boards, 4 assists) and Anfernee Simons (14 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists) sustaining the team earlier in the game helped make it all possible for Boston.
Holding Sacramento to just 33% from beyond the arc played a role (though you might not have known it given how hot the Kings shot in the game’s first quarter), and won the battle of the boards 40-32 as well. The Celtics next play the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday (Jan. 3) night to finish off their longest road trip of the 2025-26 NBA regular season.
Let’s take a look at some of the best plays captured in images from the win.
