BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A man from Taft was killed in a crash early New Year’s Day.
California Highway Patrol said officers received a call about a crash on January 1, at around 8:30 a.m., at the intersection of South 10th Street and B Street.
An investigation found that a 39-year-old man from Taft was traveling east on B Street in a 2013 Honda Civic when he crashed into a tree.
The driver died.
It is still unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, according to CHP.
