LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego dominates against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Simon Fraser in their Saturday dual meet. Through 22 events the Triton women defeated CMS 124 to 73 and Simon Fraser 114 to 83. The Triton men defeated CMS 125 to 72 and Simon Fraser 123.5 to 66.5.
 
The Tritons claimed 15 first place finishes on the day, seven from the women and eight from the men, to help put them on top.
 
WOMEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
The Triton women swept three different events.
In the 200 Yard Freestyle Audrey Moore in first (1:51.43), Sydney Niles in second (1:52.49), and Belle Puckett in third (1:53.26). In the 200 Yard IM the top seven finishers were all Tritons. Asia Kozan placed first (1:59.79), Eva Boelhke second (2:01.19), and Chloe Braun third (2:03.94). The 100 Yard Backstroke had Addison Everage in first, Dani Carter in second, and Danielle Greendwood in third.
 
Eva Boelhke had a first-place finish in the 100 Yard butterfly (54.16), Minh-Nha Kawamura finished third (55.05). Jasmine Phuong placed first in the 50 Yard Freestyle (23.7) with Addison Everage claiming third (24.35). Audrey Moore had another first-place finish in the 100 Yard Freestyle (52.11), with Sydney Borick in third (52.9). Sophia Bell earned herself a second-place finish in the 1650 Yard Freestyle. In the 200 Yard Medley Relay the Triton women claimed first (1:42.03) and second (1:44.76).
 
MEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
On the men’s side they swept three different events.
In the 200 Yard IM Bekzhan Yessengeldy finished first (1:49.46), with Shane Burns in second (1:51.71), and Aiden Griffith placed third (1:52.86). In the 100 Yard Butterfly Hunter Cehelnik took first (47.01), Adrian Bellido took second (48.79), and Jacob Cairns took third (49.51). In the 50 Freestyle Zach Elian finished first (20.61), Jacob Wang second (20.82), and Lucas Brunett in third (20.88).
 
In the 100 Yard Backstroke William Seymour claimed first (48.96) and Shane Burns claimed second (50.18). Zach Elian earned another first-place finish in the 100 Yard Freestyle (45.71), right behind him Aidan Rikic (46.05). In the 200 Yard Freestyle Luigi Franco finished first (1:39.31) and Aidan Rikic tied for second (1:39.37). Zachary Tower earned first in the 1650 Yard Freestyle (15:39.43) and Landon Egeland finished second (15:52.12). In the 200 Yard Medley Relay the Triton men claimed first with their A team (1:28.04) and second with their B team (1:31.24).
 
UP NEXT
The Triton women will host UC Davis for a conference match-up on Friday, Nov. 7th at Canyonview Aquatic Center. The meet is set to begin at 12 p.m.
