Firefighters rescued a man Sunday from cold, fast-moving water in a Westminster culvert.
The operation took place Sunday afternoon in the channel at Bolsa Avenue and Goldenwest Street, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
The first-arriving firefighters lowered inflated fire hoses into the culvert to catch the victim in case he lost his grip on the cement, fire officials said.
The firefighters positioned an aerial ladder truck over the culvert that allowed technical rescue specialists to lower one firefighter, secure the man and raise him to safety, officials said.
Paramedics took the man to a hospital for evaluation, they said.
The exact time of the rescue was not available.
