BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — The man and woman found dead in an apparent murder-suicide on Christmas night have been identified as Pedro Juan Rivera Gonzalez, 49, and Francis B Lainez Romero, 55, both of Bakersfield.
The Kern County coroner reported that Gonzalez and Romero were discovered dead at 10:11 p.m. in the 2700 block of Blade Avenue, located just east of Bakersfield College.
On Dec. 25, 2025, at around 10 p.m., Bakersfield Police officers responded to reports of a shooting at a home on Blade Avenue. Upon arrival, they found both people had been shot and died from their injuries.

Autopsies have been conducted, but the cause and manner of death are still pending.
