BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Kern County Supervisor Philip Peters has been appointed as the chairman of the 2026 board following a unanimous 5-0 vote on Monday, Jan. 5.
The appointment was marked by previous chair Leticia Perez passing the torch to Peters, saying in part, “I know you’re going to do a fantastic job.”
The chairmanship rotates annually among districts in numerical order, and Peters represents the 1st District.
