BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Rio Bravo Country Club, known for having the “most challenging course in Bakersfield,” has announced its closure until further notice.

The club, located just south of the mouth of the canyon, shared the news on social media, citing “unforeseen circumstances” as the reason for the shutdown.

The club stated that the closure will allow time for repairs and long-planned updates to the clubhouse. Despite the closure, high school and college sports teams will continue to use the facilities as usual.
