BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — UPDATE (3 PM):
There are no further closures listed on the Caltrans website regarding Highway 178 at the mouth of the canyon.
Earlier Monday, lanes were closed on Highway 178 at the mouth of the canyon due to a vehicle recovery, sald Caltrans’ website.
In a now-deleted post, Caltrans District 6 said just after noon that the closure was due to law enforcement activity. It’s unknown at this time what the law enforcement response was for.
The flooding closure on the 178 in the Kern River Valley was not listed on the website either.
